Register for 200-Mile Green Mountain Relay ÛÒ donation made to Haiti
January 25, 2010 ÛÒ Timberline Events LLC announced today that
for every team that registers in February for the Fifth Annual Green
Mountain Relay, a donation will be made towards the victims of the
earthquake in Haiti.
ÛÏAs a small business owner, I was wondering what my company could doÛ
said race director Paul Vanderheiden. ÛÏMy business is already a member
of 1% For the Planet, (1% of our revenues are donated to
environmental organizations), but I wanted to do more, and I wanted it
to go towards Haiti’s future, when they aren’t the news topic of the
day. So I decided to become involved with Habitat for Humanity
According to Habitat for HumanityÛªs website, ÛÏHabitat has
begun to respond by addressing immediate relief efforts and long-term
shelter solutions for low-income families. Based on current
information and past experience with international disasters, Habitat
is planning a multiphase strategy that includes early recovery and
mid- and long-term responses.Û
