Next Rumored SD Tag Title Contenders, Hideo Itami Returns to NOAH

After The Bludgeon Brothers won the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania earlier this year, Rowan and Harper had a stranglehold on those titles for months. After Rowan went down with a bicep injury, The New Day won the championships on SmackDown. However, there is now an ongoing tournament that will decide the next challengers for the tag team titles. The Bar have already advanced to the finals and they will meet the winners of a future Triple Threat tag team match between The Usos, SAnitY, and Rusev Day. According to Cageside Seats, fans should expect The Bar to ultimately win the tournament and then go on to face The New Day for the titles at Hell in a Cell later this month.
Hideo Itami is currently doing what he does best over on WWE’s 205 Live roster. Before he even set foot in WWE, Itami competed in Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan as KENTA, where he became one of the most famous competitors in the entire country. Itami’s WWE signing was a major deal at the time due to his popularity in Japan, but Hideo was recently granted the opportunity to pause his WWE career and go back to where it all started for him. It was announced earlier this year that Itami would be coming back to NOAH for one night only later this year for the promotion’s 20th anniversary show. After months of anticipation, Hideo finally made his return to Japan and reverted back to KENTA earlier this weekend.

The WWE cruiserweight has been training for his return to Japan all week long, and he just competed in Pro Wrestling NOAH under the KENTA ring name for a match against Japanese legend Naomichi Marufuji. The match was a hard-hitting fight that went over half an hour and definitely took a toll on the two competitors in the ring. The match ultimately saw Marufuji kick of of Itami’s GTS and then score himself the win with a Pole Shift Emerald Flowsion. He was then gifted flowers and thanked Itami and the fans before leaving. What is next for Hideo Itami? He will likely be going back to the United States and continue wrestling on the 205 Live roster, but don’t count out the possibility of more matches from Itami in NOAH in the future. Itami should be back on 205 Live once again starting this upcoming Tuesday night.

FYI: Today’s Naomichi Marufuji 20th Anniversary show will air tomorrow on G+ (channel 49 on Fuji TV) at 7pm JST. Therefore, results will be posted right after. #?? #prowrestlingNOAH #NaomichiMarufuji #20thAnniversary #geniusofarc #Flight #SumoHall #KENTA #KentaKobayashi #blacksun #HideoItami #WWE #205Live #SummerNavigation2018 #NOAHtheLive #NOAH_GHC #NOAH #GHC #NJPW #newjapanprowrestling #IWGP #puroresu #Japan ?? #prowrestling #???? #????????? #???? #???? #???? #??????
