News on Other WWE Programming Moving to FOX Channels

— With FOX’s FS1 and FS2 about to lose a ton of content due to UFC leaving the network, there has been talk of WWE’s NXT shows airing on FS 1.  While it does seem to make sense, people close to WWE have said that it won’t be happenng as the company wants to keep NXT as exclusive WWE network property.  However, airing on FS1 would help the show reach a far wider audience, which would in turn help live event attendance and merchandising.

— Another idea that is being tossed around to help with FS 1 ratings and viewership is to have a pre-game show every Friday before Smackdown and a post-game show on Sundays after PPVs.   They are also looking at a weekly studio show that would air on Wednesdays – a WWE version of UFC TOnight.

— FOX officials are not commenting on any future WWE programming at the moment and no announcements appear planned.  Those involved in the WWE/FOX deal also say that as far as in-ring programming goes, the agreement was only for Smackdown and there was no discussions about any other wrestling shows.
