As noted, WWE has announced the new Mixed Match Challenge series, which will premiere on January 16th via Facebook.
WWE MMC will feature top stars from both Raw and Smackdown teaming up for a mixed tag team tournament. Stars set for the series include Becky Lynch, Braun Strowman, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn, Sasha Banks, Bayley and more. The tag team partner combinations will be revealed on January 4th.

Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting additional details on the show, noting that one of the creative ideas discussed is to have real life couples paired up as tag teams on the show, examples being Jimmy Uso and Naomi and Lana and Rusev.

The report also notes Nia Jax and Enzo Amore are nearly a lock to be tag partners, given their new storyline on WWE TV.
The report adds the show won’t necessarily be storyline related as it pertains to events which happen on Smackdown and Raw, but rather minor things that happen to the performers might factor into their individual WWE MMC stories, for example if a wrestler has a grueling match on Raw or Smackdown, he or she might be pulled from their scheduled MMC match.
Finally, it’s being said Vince McMahon is “pulling out all the stops” for the new WWE MMC show, to ensure he and WWE make a good impression on top Facebook brass.
